Welcome WoodCreek Junior High Families! The 2023-2024 school year is here and the PTA is excited for another great year.
On behalf of the entire WoodCreek Junior High (WCJH) PTA board, I would like to welcome all our new and returning students and families to WCJH. I encourage each and every family to become part of our PTA pack. Along with your support, volunteers, and PTA board, we will make great things happen this school year. We are better as a PACK!
If you are asking what PTA does, let me explain. PTA sponsors programs and activities, holds fundraisers, and organizes volunteers to assist our faculty and staff for the benefit of ALL students. A few programs to be on the lookout for are Watch Dogs, Reflections and PBIS (reward system for the students). A popular fundraiser is Fun Food Fridays. This all-time favorite event allows the students to purchase candy, soda, and pre-order food for their lunch. Be on the lookout for details! PTA will be kicking off the fall fundraiser which allows us to give 100% of the funds raised back to the school. Currently, the PTA is helping fund school upgrades. PTA is proud to help sponsor teachers with continuing education which will be used in the classrooms throughout the year. These are just a few events from a list which goes on and on.
Thirty volunteers make up the WCJH PTA board and fill 32 positions/committees. They all put their hearts into PTA for the students and staff. We enjoy welcoming new volunteers and getting to know you. General Meetings are held throughout the year, and we invite everyone to attend to hear what we have been doing and what will be happening. This is one of the best ways to get involved and have a voice at YOUR school. Be on the lookout for the first General Meeting on September 9th. You can also follow all dates and announcements in our bi-weekly PTA Newsletter, PTA Face Page, and website.
I encourage you to become involved in PTA. Membership is important and our goal is to exceed our prior year numbers. The more active members we have, the more we can accomplish for our children. Your PTA membership helps WCJH PTA provide activities and support for all students, and it gives you the opportunity to be a voice within the school. Volunteering looks different for everyone, whether that is volunteering your time on campus or from home by helping with a wish list. We accept help in many different ways depending on your availability because the goal is to help our children.
WCJH PTA is thankful to have each of you back on campus and partnering with us to make this a wonderful school year. Thank you for your support and helping make it possible to continue giving to our students, school, and staff. We are grateful.
